Coco peat is a material that formed by crushing peels of coconut. How Coco Peat is formed in industry?
Coco Peat is made commercially where coconut is grown in there highest level. Generally it is made in coastal areas.
While making coco peat, firstly take out the peels from coconut and with the help of coconut some machines powder is separated from coco coir .
After seperating, the powder is compressed and convert into brick.
How to use that coco peat brick?
1. Take coco peat brick and soak it for 2 to 3 hours.
2. After soaking it will appear five to six time it's original size.
3. By squeezing extract all the water from coco peat.
4. After extracting water from it, it will ready to use.
How to make coco peat at home?
So friends there are lots of ways for making coco peat at home from that we are discussing one with Electricity and other without Electricity.
Method of making coco peat at home with Electricity.
1. Take the peels of coconut and cut it in small pieces .
2. Be remember that there is not any hard substance.
3. Grind all the pieces in Grinder.
4. Stain all grinded material in stainer.
5. After staining you will get fine coco peat.
Method of making coco peat at home without electricity.
1. Take coconut peels on clean newspaper.
2. Rub the peels with each other.
3. After rubbing we will get coco peat from peels with some coco coir.
4. Collect the powder and stain it in stainer, because of staining the powder and small hairs (coco coir) will be seperated.
5. Finally your coco peat will be ready.
How to use this homemade coco peat?
1. Take that coco peat and soak it for 2 to 3 hours.
2. After 2 to 3 hours it will absorb water and then you have to squeeze the over water from that coco peat.
3. Your coco peat is ready to use.
What are the Advantages of coco peat?
• By mixing coco peat in potting soil your soil will not act like compact. Because of that roots can grow easily.
• Coco peat is best for seed germination. Because it is naturally anti - fungal and light weight.
• Coco peat has a ability to absorb water and retain it for long time. Because of that your plant can survive in extreme hot condition.
• Coco peat's pH ( power of hydrogen) level vary from 5.7 to 6.5 which is ideal for plant growth.
• Coco peat is natural weedicide . Because of that you will not face the problem of weeds.
What are the Disadvantages of coco peat?
• Because of water holding capacity you can not grow soft wood cutting in it.
• You can not grow tall plants in it, because of coco peat's porousness it can not anker the tall plant.
• Plants like catus or succulent will not survive in it.
