Friends as we know that Amaryllis plant is a bulbous plant means it is grown by the bulb. Be remember that whenever you are taking its bulb for growing you to check the bulb is big and healthy.

The size for that bulb should be at least 1.5 to 2-inch in diameter.

After selecting the bulb you have to plant it in potting mix.

Till the bulb will not produce leaves you have to not water it, but remember that soil must be always in moist condition.

When you will see the leaves are coming out then you have to increase the frequency of watering.

After 8 to 10 weeks the flowering phase will start the flowering phase but it is not very important in the care of the Amaryllis plant.

After the flowering phase, the resting phase will start.

What to do in the resting phase of the Amaryllis plant?

Firstly you have to prune the flowering stem.

Friends as I told you the third most important phase is the resting phase.

However, this is that where all do mistakes. In which people give water and fertilizer to the Amaryllis plant but they don't know that is resting time.

So that's why plants grow normally but do not produce flowers .

There is two method to get out of resting phase for amaryllis plant.

Method 1.

In this method you have to decrease watering after September month slowly.

You should not fertilize during its resting phase and you have to water it almost negligible.

After August month you have to place the pot in a less sunlight location. You can see its effect after some time so that's why don't be panic.

After some time you will see that the leaves are becoming yellow in color. When you will see the leaves are almost yellow then you have to stop watering completely and cut all the leaves from the bottom.

Due to low sunlight, fertilizer, and water your Amaryllis plant's bulb will go into its dormant condition.

Now you have to leave the Amaryllis plant as it is for 8 to 10 weeks without water and fertilizer.

After 8 to 10 weeks you have to remove them from soil and store it's bulb for repotting.

Method 2.

The second option is to remove bulbs from the soil and place them in a dark place. If there are not many plants then you should keep them in the pot but if the pot is completely filled with bulbs and there is no space then you should remove them from the pot and keep them in a dark place for 8 to 10 weeks.

After 8 to 10 weeks you have to remove them from soil and store it's bulb for repotting.

How to store Amaryllis plant's bulb?

To store its bulb you have to remove all soil from its roots by washing water. Then you have to store it for 6 to 8 weeks. Now Amaryllis plant's bulb will go in a dormant condition.

Benifits of repotting amaryllis plant's bulb?

When you repot it then there are 80% to 90% chances to get flowers from it.

How to repot amaryllis plant's bulb?

After 6 to 8 weeks the bulbs are ready to plant in new potting soil. For repotting the best months are February to March.

But you can choose any month between September to April for repotting. Remember that the flowering will not start quickly it will take at least 8 to 10 weeks before repotting you have to soak the bulbs in water for 1 to 2 hours but it is not very important you can skip this process.

How to get continuous flowering in Amaryllis plant?

Friends Amaryllis plants produce flowers for a very short time means the flowering phase will end in 12 to 15 days. So that's why if you have lots of bulbs then you should repot them one by one and give the interval of 12 to 15 days in 2 bulbs.

So if the first blooming period will end then the second plant's blooming period will start so that you will get flowers for a long period of time.
